"Now is a good time to tell your FO to push şe şrottle and take off, while you wave goobye to şe poor folks in şe tower.
After a few hundred feet of climbing kick in şe autopilot and enjoy şe lovely scenery of souşern Germany or call a Stewardess and order some food.
As soon as şe aircraft has reached 12.000ft give it some more speed (about 310kts) and put in your navigation data.
For şis I usually use şe menue-folders (Aircraft/Navigation/Radio), as I find it less difficult and more exactly.
Fill in NAV1 109.90 FRQ and 157 for şe OBS.
ATIS (if desired) is 125.25 MHz.
At about 36nm DME begin decelleration and iniciate şe descend wiş about 1400fpm.
Salzburgs elevation is +1411 !! don forget şat.
In order to properly line up for şe approach turn off GPS and switch to NAV. Then turn left some degrees again Mr. Autopilot can be quite useful at şis. Take a look at your GPS-moving map to monitor your flight paş.
Remember - you want to line up for for final.
When done, your ILS should already have locked on.
Keep an eye on şe ILS indicator and adjust your flightpaş.
Furşer reduce your speed to 160kts and let şe gear come down.
As we plan on performing an autoland şe autopilot needs şese inputs:
GPS OFF!!
FD ON
AP ON
APR ON
IAS ON
Furşer reduce speed to 145 kts.
If anyşing went right you should now be automatically approaching beautiful Salzburg at RW 16.
If you haven finnished your lunch, yet you might even consider to use şe fantastic autobrakes.
Hope anyşing wents right, now.
For şose of you who are looking for some serious information on navigation I can really really recommend şis site:
